Speakers:

Michael Lentini – Exploration Geoscientist, received a B.S. Geology from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida and his M.S. Geology from University of Wisconsin – Madison. Mike has over 34-years of Global New Ventures Exploration experience. He is an expert consultant for clients interested in Oil & Gas investments and for companies requiring an independent review of their exploration strategies, portfolio risk & volumes, and technical quality assurance. His specialties include Play-Based exploration, the South Atlantic, rift petroleum systems and reservoir quality prediction.

Scot Fraser – Founder, Director Exploration, Ventura International Energy LLC – Formerly Strategy and Growth Exploration Manager Shell Exploration Americas – Extensive global basin knowledge and an industry-leading hydrocarbon exploration success record founded on expert, integrated technical skills – 25+yrs experience. Track Record – Consistent career built around identification and access to early delivering and emerging play trends in >25 new play concepts across 100 global basins. A recognized thought-leader in the exploration of continental margins – has been responsible for new acreage access >50,000km2 with an accumulated investment of > $5B. Proven oil finder with accumulated exploration success record >3.5 BBOE.

In a two-hour moderated session, they will share their exploration roadmap that discovered billions of barrels of oil in a new and unknown petroleum system. The discussion will address the exploration challenges in the context of Business Trends in 2019.

In a post-downturn oil-price cycle, does the future of exploration require a fundamental re-think or can exploration regain its status as an engine for growth? If so, how might that be realized?

In late 2006 and early 2007, a small team of Private Equity-backed, proven explorers, embarked on building a top-quartile exploration portfolio. Within 3 years, the team had negotiated and secured what was determined to be the most prolific (operated) portfolio position in the Kwanza basin, offshore Angola.

How was the success achieved given the strong IOC competition (ENI, Exxon, Statoil, BP, Total, etc.) by a startup company with constrained resources?

Mike and Scot will share their approach and provide an explicit roadmap to stimulate paradigm-shifts in pursuit of future exploration value creation.

After the session, we will host a reception and networking  5:30-7:30 pm at
